Before each of my recipes I would like to give you a little back ground of how I got the recipe.
Main Menu
apple pudding Cake
This is one of my mom's favorites. Its a very dense cake thats full of flavor. I remember her making it often. I also could tell this is one of her favorites because of the way the page looks in her cookbook. Spills and crumbs are all over this much loved page. Since the fall season is upon us local apples are in the orchards ready to pick.

butter tarts
This is another one of my Mom's recipes that I am sure was handed down from her Mom. Being of Canadian decent it is only natural of make butter tarts. I'm sure that they did not orginally come from Canada they are probably from England.

Hester's buttermilk pie
This recipe comes from my Mom's little red and white cookbook. I couldn't tell you who Hester is but I can guess it is from my Dad's side of the family. In all my life I have never heard such funny names as the ones that are related to my Dad's side of the family. My Dad being born and raised in the south makes him a real southern boy at heart.

Crazy Crust Apple Pie
This recipe is an easy solution to those of us who for the life of them cannot make a decent pie crust. This pie has a crust but you don't have to roll it out. No dough sticking to the rolling pin, no dough ripping and cracking when your trying to make a somewhat round piece of crust. My mom has two variations on this card so that you can use fresh apples when in season or canned apple pie filling.
