To tell you the truth about this recipe....I have never tried these. I was looking for something in my many cookbooks and pulling one down from the cupboard this piece of paper fell out. Its on a calendar page dated July 5th 1996. Its in my mom's handwriting so I will assume my mom had made this before. I don't remember having them but then again 1996 was over twenty years ago and who can remember all the foods you tried that long ago. Its simple and is done in one pan. My mom was a wonderful cook and even a better baker so how bad could these be? Give them a try and let me know how you liked them.
1/4 Cup melted butter or margarine.
2 cups packed brown sugar
2/3 cup flour
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups chopped pecans

Pour melted butter into a 9X13 inch pan. Combine sugar, flour, eggs, vanilla, baking soda and salt. Mix well.
Stir in the pecans. Spread this over the melted butter.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes
Remove from oven, sprinkle with confectionary sugar. Cool and cut into squares.
