Crispy Green Salad
Crispy Green Salad
I think almost every one has seen or tasted this salad. It has many names one of the others I know is 7 layer salad. Its a great dish for a pot luck dinner or to take to someones house and your asked to bring a salad. I have never had a complaint from anyone tasting it. But remember this is best made the day before the function. If you have any variance to your receipe let me know.
1 Head Lettuce shredded
2 Stalks of Celery chopped
3 Green Onions chopped
1/2 Medium Green pepper chopped
1 10oz package Frozen Peas
1 1/2 Cups Mayonaise (not miracle whip)
3 Tbls. Sugar
1/2 Cup parmasean cheese
5 to 8 slices of bacon

Fry bacon crisp and crumble it. I prefer Iceberg lettuce for this salad. Take one head and shred.
Place lettuce in the bottom of a 9 X 13 inch pan. Sprinkle with celery, onions, green pepper. Sprinkle pea's over top.
Spread mayonaise over the salad covering completely. Sprinkle with sugar then parmasean cheese. Then crumbled bacon. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and refridgerate overnight.
