Before each of my recipes I would like to give you a little back ground of how I got the recipe.

Mediterranean Chicken Stew
My family loves olives, black or green I can't keep them in the house. My step-daughter Sarah loves green olives and as a standing joke between us she always asks for a jar of olives for any celebration. On her sixteenth birthday she wanted olives.....so I bought her a very large jar of green olives and wrapped them with her other gifts.........

If you have ever been to Louisiana or heard of cag'n cooking you have heard of this dish. My mom's brother lived in slidell for some years. I am guessing she may have gotten this recipe from her sister-in-law. My Uncle Bill and his wife Aunt Hank (Henrietta) had six children but lost one from Meningitis due to the hurricane Camille. Junie was two years old .

This is not one of my Mom's low calorie recipe's. The 2 cups of whipping cream clued me on on that. I don't remember Mom making this when we were kids the card is dated June 1985 so it was long after I was married for the first time, she made this recipe. There is no hint as to where she may have gotten this recipe.......

Using ready made Filo dough makes this recipe simpler to do with a great presentation. The filo dough rises up nicely and give that restaurant quality to your dish. This is a very impressive dish to make if you want to show off your culinary expertise. This is not the recipe to choose if you just got off and 8 hour shift at work.
This recipe comes from one of my Mom's sources, maybe from the bisquick box or another brand of biscuit mix. It is hand written on and 3 X 5 card. In the recipe it calls for 1/4 cup mayonaise divided but the recipe never got to what you are suppose to do with the second half of the mayonaise, so I added it to the egg mixture.
This warm comforting dish is perfect for one of those crisp cool days of fall. This could be assembled the day before so that you can pop it in the oven and hour before dinner time. Like most stews this can be adjusted to your tastes. Serving this alone or over rice or noodles would make for a very filling meal. Add a crisp salad and hard rolls and all the comforts of home will surround you.
I remember standing and watching my mom makes these in the kitchen. They seemed like a lot of work to me but she enjoyed being in the kitchen and cooking. It doesn't say on the card but I would bet she received this recipe from a neighbor.
This is my first contribution to my recipes from a reader. I want personally thank Dave for his special rib recipe and I hope all my readers will try them. Thanks again Dave!
This recipe is one I just tried out of my Mom's recipe box. The first time I tried it I was not wild about the looks of it. Since the card didn't have any cooking directions on it, I decided to try just putting the chicken on a 13 X 9 inch pan and baking it. When it came out of the oven it was sort of pale looking and not very appetizing.

I made this Monday for dinner. I remember my mom making this for my sister Reta on her birthday. It was a tradition in our family that for our birthday we could have Mom cook our favorite for our birthday dinner. I always remembered that Reta picked Pork Chop Suey for her birthday dinner.
This recipe is from Land O' Lakes butter I can assume. It is cut out of the box from the butter and was in with my Mom's treasured box of recipes. I made this last week for dinner despite fish being not one of my favorites. But because its good for you I deceided we all need something that was good for us in our diet.
I know my Mom didn't make this when we were growing up because it is not that economical to serve to five children. To us kids it would have just been a white macaroni and cheese. This recipe was found on one of the index cards from her treasured box of recipes.
Dave E-Mailed me this recipe I think boasting about what a great chef he is. I know for a fact that dave takes great care when preparing his meals. I also know that dave has a wonderful pallet and would only serve the best possible meal to his family. This recipe is for a large crowd as he prepared this for his family for the holidays.
This recipe comes from my mom's old tin recipe box. It is written on just a piece of 3 by 5 inch paper so it would fit in the recipe box. This is not a recipe back from when I was kid but it does look pretty old. I have made this twice the first time I followed the recipe just as written but the second time I put my own twist on it.
