This collection of recipes is copied right from a small personal collection my mother had hand written into a personal cookbook or on 3 X 5 cards kept in a box.
My mom was a wonderful cook and baker. She was self taught after she was married. My dad proclaims she couldn't boil water when they got married. Surprising enough growing up in a large family of 4 girls and 1 boy my mother was not allowed much in the kitchen. Apparently her mom ruled that area so the girls were designated to clean and do laundry. I know they did alot of ironing as I still remember my grandma ironing her bra's.
Mom was self taught in her kitchen not because she also, had a family of 4 girls and 1 boy but because she loved it. I think the best cooks are the ones that find comfort and joy in cooking and baking. My better days are spent in my kitchen.
So if you find humor, love and familiaraity in some of these recipes ....thank you.
Please and as a favor to me send me your favorite recipes or your mom's and grandma's favorite recipes. Sharing the love my mom had for cooking and baking makes me very happy.
Start at the top in the main menu and work your way down, I'm sure you'll find at least a story or recipe that will bring joy to your life.
